What Is Brazilian Lemonade (Limeade)!

This Brazilian Lemonade recipe is a delicious blended ice drink that utilizes whole limes, ice and a bit of condensed milk. It’s incredibly refreshing and slightly sweet & tart.

Why is it called Brazilian Lemonade Instead Of Brazilian Limeade?

It can actually be referred to as both – but the Portuguese word for both lemon and lime is limão. And since this term covers both citrus fruits, this drink can often be called both Brazilian Lemonade & Brazilian Limeade.

Key Elements Of This Recipe

  • Whole Limes: Using whole limes adds some depth to the citrus flavor
  • Condensed Milk: Sweetened condensed milk adds creaminess to the drink
  • Ice: This is a frozen drink – so ice is crucial

After it has blended, strain the liquid and then pour the strained liquid back into the blender. (This step is optional, do not strain if you want a slightly thicker and heartier lime taste.)

Add in your ice – and blend once more until smooth.

Lastly, pour into a nice tall glass, garnish with a slice of lime and enjoy!

Variations To The Recipe

If you’d like, you can also use cream of coconut rather than the condensed milk. Just be sure to add in a little bit more cream of coconut than the the amount of condensed milk that goes into this recipe, since the cream of coconut is a bit thinner.

Also, if you don’t like the rich taste of the lime peels in your drink, you can also cut off some of the peel and discard them when you quarter your limes. This will yield a slightly lighter lime taste in your lemonade – which some people prefer.

What Alcohol Pairs Best With Brazilian Lemonade?

While you can enjoy this drink just as it is – if you’d like to spice it up, tequila, rum or vodka would be great additions to this drink to make it an adult beverage!
