How To Make Grilled Peaches

How to grill peaches? It’s really easy.

Umamiology-Grilled-Peaches-ProcessShot1

Start by cutting your peaches in half. (I leave the core on so that the peach halves can hold more of its structural integrity as I grill it. Just remember to remind your guests to eat around the core when serving it.)

Then make your brown sugar sauce by combining your brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, butter and coffee grounds into a small sauce pan. Place your pan on the stove, on low heat, and stir until the butter is melted and all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Lay your cut peaches on a baking tray and give them a baste with half of the brown sugar sauce.

Fire up your grill or smoker to 500°F and place your peaches directly on your grill grates.

Let them grill for about 4-6 minutes – until the peaches develop some nice char lines.

Remove from the grill, plate them in a large serving dish and drizzle on some more of the brown sugar sauce.

FAQ

Will grilling peaches ripen them?

Not exactly ripen them, but because the intense heat of the grill will bake the flesh of the peach and also caramelize the sugar inside of them, they will soften the fruit and it will feel warm and ripe to the taste.

What are the best fruits and vegetables to grill?

Peaches are great to grill, as well as fresh ears of corn and spears of freshly cut pineapples.

Can you grill peaches on the stove top?

Yes! You just need a grilling pan that has ridges, over high heat on the stove.
